Athleticism

Let’s get this one out of the way first. Greedy Williams is big and fast. I predict that he is going to test extremely well at the combine. Athleticism can be a double edged sword when it comes to evaluating prospects, but it is an important consideration for any position in the secondary.

Want to know how fast Williams is? Turn on the tape against Miami from this year. During a 2nd quarter interception by linebacker Jacob Phillips, Williams is about 15 yards behind the play but sprints forward and runs across the goal line shoulder to shoulder with Phillips. His speed, size, and leaping ability stand out on tape.

Man Coverage Skills

Greedy has the potential to erase a teams top receiving threat. He can go stride for stride with anyone, and has the size to contest jump balls in the end zone. He does an excellent job of mirroring receivers and flipping his hips to run with guys on deep routes. Can play in press and in off man coverage. Has room to grow, but shows the ability to be a true shutdown corner.

Ball Skills

A lot of times people interpret this as meaning a player gets a lot of interceptions, but that is not the whole story. Greedy Williams is extremely active with his hands and bats away and breaks up passes. He snags his fair share of interceptions. I am certain that NFL color commentators are salivating over the fact that his nickname is Greedy and he gets turnovers. Prepare yourself for a lot of awful puns.
