Patrick Mahomes is coming off of his first fourth-quarter comeback win. Can he continue to produce against one of the NFL’s best defenses?

The Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes is amazing, isn’t he? The kid that the nation has started to call “Showtime” keeps living up to the nickname that his father gave him as a kid.

On Monday night, under the bright lights of primetime, Mahomes showed why his father came up with the name in the first place. In his first primetime game, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a comeback win in the fourth quarter against the Denver Broncos. On the final drive, he even threw a pass with his left hand, which gained a first down, while trying to avoid being sacked by Von Miller.

Mahomes was not the only one who stepped up to the plate when called upon this week. As amazing as he was, Kareem Hunt was just as impressive. Hunt finished the game with 121 yards rushing on 19 carries and a touchdown, along with three catches for 54 yards. Seeing Hunt remind everyone that there was a reason he led the league in rushing last season was a blast to watch, and he may be called upon to do more of the same against the teams toughest test yet this season the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Chiefs offense has been the most explosive in football over the first quarter of the season. Monday night showed that this offense could be slowed down by a good defense. This week Mahomes will be facing the best defense he has ever seen at the NFL level, and he will once again have to prove that his success to this point is not a fluke. With this past win on Monday, the Chiefs were able to get a comfortable lead within their division.

This Sunday will be about more than placing well in the division, a win or loss on could have huge ramifications later on in the year when it comes to playoff seeding. Owning the tiebreaker over one of the top teams in the AFC will be invaluable going forward. So, who are the biggest weapons at the Jaguars disposal? What exactly makes their defense so feared across the league? Let’s find out.
