Adrian Amos, Chicago Bears (25-years-old)

Adrian Amos was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He is a safety out of Penn State. standing 6′ 0″ and 214 lbs. Amos originally got the starting position job his rookie season as well as the 2016 season. Then came the 2017 season where he lost starting job to rookie safety Eddie Jackson, until teammate and ex-Chief Quintin Demps was injured in Week 3. Amos then again became the other starting safety and went on to have the best season of his young career being named to the Pro Football Focus 2017 All-Pro Team.

Amos may or may not be available, but the fact that he is in the final year of his rookie deal makes it possible he could be for the right price. The Bears just signed cornerback Kyle Fuller to an extension prior to the start of the season and made a slew of free agent signings, not mention trading for All-Pro edge rusher Khalil Mack and giving him a record-breaking contract.

Chicago may or may not be able to afford Amos. Regardless, it’s an inquiry the Chiefs should make.

Amos coming to KC bring an established safety who has the ability to make plays and change the outcome of games. Amos may not wow you at times, but he also won’t disappoint you very often. In his short 3 years in the league he has accrued 44 starts, 1 interception, 3 forced fumbles, 1 sack, and 185 solo tackles. Similar to Swearinger, Amos is not Earl Thomas caliber, but he is still an upgrade.

The Finances:

Amos contract would be a minor $1.96 million for 2018 and becomes a free agent in march of 2019. The contract wouldn’t be an issue in the slightest bringing him to KC.
