The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams are the two two teams battling it out for NFL supremacy in this week’s power rankings.

Another week of NFL Power Rankings columns have been submitted all over the interwebs and once again we’re seeing the Kansas City Chiefs at the very top or battling with only one primary team for the honors of being the highest ranked team in the National Football League.

The fact that the Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams are jostling for position atop NFL power rankings after the first quarter season is not surprising. Both teams are the only undefeated teams left, and the schedules have not done either any favors. While four weeks can sometimes yield an unbeaten team who lucks out with favorable schedule draws, both the Rams and Chiefs look the part of a Super Bowl contender.

The Chiefs just endured their most difficult test through the first four weeks on Monday in a primetime showdown at Mile High Stadium against the Denver Broncos. What’s interesting here is that Patrick Mahomes pulled off a fourth quarter comeback on the road, and the Chiefs continue to put away opponents outside Arrowhead. Mahomes has also beaten Philip Rivers in Los Angeles, Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh and now Case Keenum in Denver.

The Chiefs offense continues to show itself the team’s strongest suit and that’s the focus of NFL analysts as they compare the Chiefs to other teams. While the defense still has a lot of work to go, the reality is that Mahomes and his vast array of weapons will keep the Chiefs in any and all games.

Here’s a look at what the experts are saying about the Chiefs heading into Week 5:

NFL.com – Elliot Harrison

"Superlatives are thrown around far too often in the NFL, especially with quarterbacks, but how can anyone not be amazed at Patrick Mahomes’ performance Monday night?"

Bleacher Report

Chiefs ranking: 2

"Facing a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Mahomes didn’t look the part of a second-year pro. He coolly made play after play, guiding the Chiefs on a pair of touchdown drives that earned KC its fourth win in as many tries."

ESPN

Chiefs ranking: 2

CBS Sports – Pete Prisco

Chiefs ranking: 2

"Patrick Mahomes is playing at such a high level already. Now comes his toughest test against the No. 1-ranked Jaguars defense."

SB Nation – Rebecca Toback

Chiefs ranking: 2

NBC Sports – Peter Hailey

Chiefs ranking: 3

"Patrick Mahomes may need his own TV channel soon, since he’s doing something ridiculous every week. Andy Reid and his young QB are tearing up the league."
