Looking back at the offensive and defense ranks of previous Super Bowl winners might tell us if these rollercoaster Chiefs can make it work.

Is it too early to start talking about the Super Bowl? The NFL season is only two weeks old, but the league is already abuzz with talks of an all-time offense in the making from Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs have put up 80 points in only 2 weeks behind Mahomes’ record-breaking 10 touchdowns in that time span. Is it a fluke or are the Chiefs the real deal? Only time will answer this question.

Let’s assume the trend continues and head coach Andy Reid and the Chiefs morph into the new offensive juggernaut in the NFL. Can a dynamic offense be enough to carry a team to a championship on its own, or does it require a better defense than the Chiefs currently appear to have?

Let’s take a look and see if we can figure out from previous Super Bowl winners what exactly it takes offensively and defensively to become a Champion.
