Chiefs Kingdom is abuzz with excitement for Patrick Mahomes and comedian Rob Riggle is just as susceptible as the rest of us.

Somehow even with loaded weapons at every single skill position and a wealth of potential even beyond that, the Kansas City Chiefs are being treated as underdogs heading into this season. At least comedian and actor Rob Riggle is doing his job as a loyal Chiefs fan to spread the word and hype up his team as much as possible.

Riggle appeared on a recent episode of Undisputed which features Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless as talking heads making bigger deals out of things than they should be (like all 24/7 news networks, if we’re honest). However Riggle was able to make a case for the potential greatness of the Chiefs offense, a real possibility that not enough people are making a case for.

“I’m telling you the Chiefs have never been vertical,” said Riggle. “We’ve just never been a vertical team at all, but now… I don’t even know what to do with myself. We’ve got Kareem Hunt in the backfield. We’ve got Travis Kelce doing the short routes. Now we’ve got Tyreek [Hill] going full… You’ve got Watkins who can come in … The potential for our offense is off the charts. The era of Mahomes has begun.”

Through it all, Riggle is clearly excited and even laughs at the idea, al of which is fitting, yet somehow much of the NFL is still writing the Chiefs off. Patrick Mahomes is being overlooked by every rookie passer like Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold as well as his second-year colleagues like Deshaun Watson. Despite having the NFL’s returning rushing leader, the NFL’s best deep threat and arguably the NFL’s best tight end alongside the newest import in Sammy Watkins, the Chiefs are even getting dissed by oddsmakers in Vegas.
