AFC West positional rankings: How the offensive lines stack up
By Grant Tuttle
Right Guard
1. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Kansas City Chiefs
A quickly ascending player, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif looks to improve upon a stellar performance last season. He did an admirable job in both the running and passing game and this off-season he became an M.D. He is obviously a very hard worker and is quickly becoming one of the best players at his position.
2. Gabe Jackson, Oakland Raiders
Gabe Jackson is a big strong player. He possesses very good upper body strength and athleticism. However, his recovery skills are not always great. At right guard, Jackson hopes to be a good teammate to the team’s new lineman Kolton Miller, who was regarded as a reach in this year’s draft.
3. Connor McGovern, Denver Broncos
Connor McGovern has an average skill set and hopes to improve for next season with the Denver Broncos. McGovern may be the weakest link on the offensive line besides Garrett Bolles, who has a higher ceiling. If McGovern can just be serviceable, the Broncos will be happy with his performance.
4. Forrest Lamp, Los Angeles Chargers
Lamp missed all of his rookie season with a torn ACL. A widely sought after draft pick, Forrest Lamp looks to live up to his potential. There is a definite uncertainty as he has not played a down in the NFL yet. However, he certainly has a high potential.
