Reviewing Andy Reid’s tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs: 2015
By David Thomas
The greatest season in Kansas City Chiefs history since 1993 when the Chiefs were quarterbacked by Joe Montana.
We’ve finally made it to the top of list! The best year of the Andy Reid era is none other than the first season since Joe Montana and the 1993 Kansas City Chiefs bested the Houston Oilers in the divisional round. On January 9th, 2016, after 8 straight playoff losses finally won in blowout fashion against the Houston Texans in a wild card game. 22 seasons had passed since the last Chiefs playoff victory; one of the longer droughts in the league at the time.
But it wasn’t the only thing that made the season great. Going back to the start of the season, things weren’t looking too hot out of the gate. A 1-5 start was the worst start to a season in which a team has ever made it to the playoffs and win. The Chiefs had to go on a 10 game winning streak during the regular season just to ensure their spot in the playoffs.
It was quite a wild season, and so far the only season of the Reid era to end with at least one playoff win. It may not have been quite as exciting as the 2016 season, but it is the most historically important season of the bunch.
Now, lets take a closer look at some of the other storylines from the season.
