Let’s cut through the hype and buzz of players who have never performed at the pro level and find the 9 most overlooked Kansas City Chiefs.

Right now there are 90 players on every franchise’s active roster (give or take a random opening if a team is in the midst of making some minor transaction). Only half of those players will be active for Week 1, with an additional 8 given space among inactives and another 10 for practice squads. Position battles are fierce. Depth charts are cramped. It’s a purposeful overcrowding as coaches and general managers hope to find and keep as much talent as possible heading into the regular season.

What often happens this time of year is that many players get overlooked. Undrafted free agents suddenly have more potential than what should ever be applied to their accounts. Rookies are all set to be sure things. And the hype or buzz of the unknown overshadows players who deserve more credit than they are given.

We are proven wrong with each new year, yet it happens each and every spring regardless. So in an effort to cut through our excitement for the unproven and to appreciate a bit more some players who deserve it, here’s our take on the most overlooked players on the Kansas City Chiefs right now, arranged in alphabetical order.
