The statistical side:

Even from a statistical point of view this season is quite an anomaly for Reid for several reasons. As previously mentioned, it is the only season in modern NFL history than an NFL team finished with zero wide receiver touchdowns. ZERO. Alex Smith passed for 18 touchdowns that season with all touchdowns going to either a tight end or running back.

Position | Receptions | Yards | Touchdowns

WR          |       152        |  1744   |        0

RB           |         72         |  573      |        9

TE            |         96         |  1111   |        9

It is the only season in Reid’s tenure in which the team did not rank #1 or #2 in turnover differential. This despite the team finishing with its best overall defense in points scored in the Reid era.

Year   | TO Diff. | League ranking

2013 |    +18    | 2nd

2016 |    +16    | T-1st

2017 |    +15    | 2nd

2015 |    +14    | 2nd

2014 |    -4       | 21st

The better side of things is that the defense finished with its best points against record, and the offense finished with the 4th least amount of turnovers in the league. However, the lack of turnovers forced, a rushing defense that ranked 5th worst , and an offense that struggled to ever get anything going led to the most disappointing season in the Andy Reid era.
