Nashville is the reported front runner to host the 2019 NFL Draft despite supposedly strong bids from other cities like Kansas City in recent years.

The good folks of Kansas City have put up a valiant effort in recent years to be considered to host a future NFL Draft. Their day might even come at some point, but for those hoping that next year was going to be the year, it sounds as if you might be disappointed when the official news drops at month’s end.

Adam Schefter has word that Nashville is the frontrunner to host the now-rotating NFL Draft, a three-day event that has grown as it has moved away from the confines of Radio City Music Hall in New York City. In recent years, Chicago, Philadelphia and now Dallas have all hosted the draft and fans from all over the country (and even the world) have followed suit, creating lots of tourism income for local businesses.

Just one year ago, Kansas City and Green Bay were among the cities considered to host the 2018 draft although they were also called “longshots” at the time. Local fans made it clear they were excited about the possibility of attending the draft in person. K.C. then registered to host future draft events with the league at some point in the future, and most recently, the Chiefs were named 1 of 5 finalists to host the draft in either 2019 or 2020. This perhaps makes them a much, much stronger possibility next year.
