Kansas City Chiefs: 5 trade targets to chase after the NFL Draft
By Thomas Welte
La’El Collins, OT/G, Cowboys
La’El Collins was a top rated prospect in 2015 who went undrafted when last minute news about his potential involvement with a murder broke. It became clear that Collins was not a person of interest, but he went undrafted and ended up signing with the Dallas Cowboys. Collins has been up and down in his starts, and the Cowboys just drafted Connor Williams out of Texas in the 2nd round this year.
Collins has been a starter at right tackle this last season for the Cowboys after starting at left guard the previous year, his rookie campaign. But the Cowboys signed former Patriots tackle Cameron Tackle to a free agent deal this offseason, which was supposed to kick Collins back inside. If Williams can step in instead, perhaps the Chiefs could be the beneficiaries of a player without an obvious home on that vaunted offensive line in Dallas.
Collins may cost a little bit more than the other players on this list, probably, but he would be a potential starter on the Chiefs front.
