Kansas City Chiefs: 5 trade targets to chase after the NFL Draft
By Thomas Welte
Maxx Williams, TE, Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens spent both a 1st and 3rd round pick on tight ends in this year’s draft, grabbing the top-rated overall tight end at No. 25 in the first round with Hayden Hurst from South Carolina. They followed that with another selection at the position with Mark Andrews from Oklahoma in the third.
Such an influx of talent at a position with so few final roster spots is going to inevitably push someone out of the way, which means Maxx Williams could be easily plucked in a deal. Williams was a top tight end prospect in the 2015 draft, and he’s entering the final year of his contract.
While Williams has failed to produce on the field, the potential is there and he is still only 24 years old. The Ravens may be willing to officially put an end to the Maxx Williams experiment for a future late round pick. A change of scenery and not being relied on as the main pass catching tight end may allow Williams to thrive.
