The Kansas City Chiefs finally have someone on the NFL’s top 50 best-selling players, according to the NFL Players Association.

Travis Kelce is becoming a household name.

Last year at this time, Travis Kelce was a member of the Rising 50, a list of 50 players outside of the actual top 50 best-selling player sales in the NFL. It’s a metric of measuring which up-and-coming players are selling well and could break into the actual Top 50 rankings the following year—and that’s exactly what happened for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

Per a press release from the National Football League Players Association, Kelce is No. 46 overall on the Top 50 best selling players list. It’s a list that combines all licensed sales of items related to that player (think jerseys to bobbleheads and baby onesies to Fathead wall decals) and it compiles sales from the last calendar year, from March 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018.

Last year, the Chiefs didn’t have a single player in the Top 50, a bit of a surprise knowing how many impact and Pro Bowl players they have on both sides of the ball. From Eric Berry’s performance and incredible comeback story to the NFL’s fastest player in Tyreek Hill to the dominance of Justin Houston, the Chiefs have numerous great players but none who were moving as much merch as others. It also doesn’t help being in a smaller Midwestern market.

Kelce now gives them a high-profile player who can move merch on a national level given his charisma, personality and obvious incredible playing ability. Perhaps a high-octane offense like the one they feature on paper will give the Chiefs even more players on this list a year from now, including Hill, Patrick Mahomes, Kareem Hunt and Sammy Watkins.
