The Indianapolis Colts are checking out a former member of the Kansas City Chiefs secondary as they seek to bolster their own in free agency.
Kenneth Acker is continuing to take his free agent visits as he searches for meaningful work in 2018, and his latest stop is with the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts employ former Chiefs exec Chris Ballard as their general manager, so it’s not a surprise to see the Colts show interest from time to time in former K.C. players. Acker has already stopped in with the Seattle Seahawks, so hopefully he will find a place to land soon in free agency.

Acker entered the NFL as a former sixth round choice for the San Francisco 49ers in the 2014 NFL Draft and soon made his way to Kansas City after being claimed on waivers by former general manager John Dorsey. Acker made some nice plays on special teams and also earned a couple starts along the way for the Chiefs.
This year, Acker was given a chance to be the primary starter outside opposite Marcus Peters in a rotation of potential options, but none of them panned out. Between Acker, Steven Nelson and Terrance Mitchell, the Chiefs were unable to find a workable solution opposite Peters, and consequently, the team has let two of them leave in free agency (Nelson still has one year left on his contract).
Acker is still only 26 and comes with 15 career starts of experience with the Niners and Chiefs.
