Star Lotulelei, DL

Star Lotulelei has already reportedly drawn some interest from the Chiefs. Lotulelei would also be one of the bigger signings on this list. He has spent the past five years playing for the Carolina Panthers, although during that time there has been a steady decrease in his overall play. In Lotulelei’s first season he was a dominant force from the defensive tackle spot. He recorded 42 tackles and three sacks to go along with an 81.1 grade by PFF.

Since then we have seen a small regression each season coming to a head with a 49.5 rating by PFF for this past season. Lotulelei has had a few foot injuries since entering the NFL, including a stress reaction that sidelined him for most of the preseason and the first two games of the 2015 season. He still managed to accumulate four sacks in the 2016 season and 1.5 sacks this past season, so he still brings that to the table.

Lotulelei may just need a change of scenery to get him back to his former dominant self, even if he does not regain his old form. His run-stuffing abilities would go a long way to helping the Chiefs front seven stop the run in the upcoming season.
