It’s clear that plenty of current and former Kansas City Chiefs players were quite glad to see the performance of the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

If you were among those who watched Super Bowl 52, then you know what a brilliant game of football it was, regardless of the outcome. For many of us, however, the outcome made it even sweeter. It was meaningful to see a city come away with their first Super Bowl victory, and to see another team kept from claiming a sixth Lombardi trophy of their own.

If those sentiments ring true with you, then it’s clear you would jive with most Kansas City Chiefs players, who took to social media to express their support of the Philadelphia Eagles in their historic 41-33 win over the New England Patriots.

Following a game in which numerous records were set due to the high-octane offenses of both teams, many members of the Chiefs obviously had good friends on the field celebrating that night. Defensive tackle Bennie Logan is just one year removed from playing in Philadelphia for several seasons. Many players on offense played under Eagles head coach Doug Pederson when he was the team’s offensive coordinator. Just last year, before the arrival of Patrick Mahomes, Nick Foles held the same job behind Alex Smithβ€”a year before he would win Super Bowl MVP as the Eagles quarterback.

Several Chiefs players, past and present, took to social media to express their support for the winners of the big game, especially Travis Kelce whose brother, Jason Kelce, anchored the Eagles offensive line. Here’s a sampling:

Some others had hilarious comments on the aftermath of the game, due to the reputation of Philly fans in general.

One former Chiefs and Eagles player would also like consideration for a ring of his own. You know, for solidarity?
