We start to take a deeper look into one of the most disappointing Chiefs games in the Playoffs against the Titans.

I’m still at a loss for words at this point with the way

the Kansas City Chiefs lost this game

. Kansas City has had some bad playoff losses in the past 15 years, but at this point, they are almost making an art of it. The Chiefs went away from what worked in the first half and their defense couldn’t get off the field in the third quarter. Hard to say where to put all of the blame but

there is plenty to go around

.

Obviously the offense came out in the third quarter and looked totally inept after controlling the ball most of the first half. Play calling seemed to change and after only getting one possession in the third quarter the game had really changed. I’m not sure who was calling plays but it wasn’t pretty regardless. I get a couple of screens when you are up against your goal line and 1st and 20. But the rest of it seemed out of sort for the offense.

Defensively I don’t know how Bob Sutton keeps his job this offseason. There are too many times where a defense with the talent the Chiefs had looked over matched by subpar opponents. You can’t have one of the best pass rushers in the NFL continually dropping back into coverage. You also can’t continue to have your corners that are best in press playing off man. The defense will look very different in 8 months. Multiple players will be gone, draft picks and free agents will be mixed in and hopefully they get younger especially at defensive coordinator.
