The Denver Broncos are done waffling on the decision and have decided to retain Vance Joseph as their head coach for another season.

After rumors swirled that half of the AFC West might get rid of their head coaches, it turns out the only turnover will be found in Oakland, who decided to fire Jack Del Rio as the Raiders head coach. The Denver Broncos decided to allow for a bit more continuity for new head coach Vance Joseph by at least giving him another year to be head coach after finishing 5-11 on the season.

Joseph seemed overwhelmed by the position at times, but he also didn’t have much talent to work with at the game’s most important position. The team also suffered numerous injuries, and any coach deserves at least two seasons to find his footing as a first-time head coach. John Elway apparently agreed and made a statement of confidence moving forward.

The Broncos certainly disappointed this last year and even lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in a game that featured the Chiefs back-ups against many of the Broncos starters. The Broncos were an offensive nightmare all season long no matter who was at quarterback, so clearly some seismic changes will be made on that side of the ball.

Joseph came over to the Broncos to help replace Gary Kubiak as head coach after serving a single season as the defensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins.
