The Denver Broncos might be without two of their best wide receivers on Sunday when they face the visiting Kansas City Chiefs.

Last Sunday, the Denver Broncos were forced to suit up only four of their own wide receivers given that both Cody Latimer and Emmanuel Sanders were dealing with injuries. It looks like that might be the case again heading into Sunday as the pair are still missing practice in the days leading up to a season-ending visit from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sanders has been dealing with an ankle injury for much of the season, missing snaps or weeks altogether as the injury has lingered. It’s seriously limited his production as well, given that he only had 47 catches for 555 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, a steep drop from his three straight seasons topping 1,000 yards before this year. However, it doesn’t help that the Broncos are getting so little production from the quarterback position in 2017.

Latimer has been a bit of a bright spot on offense this year, showing a bit of productivity where there has only been potential in years past. Latimer has 19 catches for 287 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, each of those coming in the last four games played. Latimer has never topped even 100 yards in a single season through his first three years in the league, so the Broncos have to hope that their former second round pick is a very late bloomer.

Without both of those targets, Demaryius Thomas is going to have a harder time getting open for Paxton Lynch, the Broncos young quarterback drawing the start at season’s end. The Broncos will dress Bennie Fowler, Jordan Taylor and Isaiah McKenzie in place of both Sanders and Latimer.
