Joey Bosa learning from Tamba Hali is an awesome post-game moment
By Matt Conner
This video of Joey Bosa learning from Tamba Hali reminds us all that football is fun and players like each other and we’re all in this together.
Perhaps we would feel differently about this video if the Los Angeles Chargers had just dominated the Kansas City Chiefs. Perhaps we would view the opposing team with such disdain that we would be questioning why in the world players from both sides were even looking at each other, let alone talking and, gasp, sharing tips with each other. But given that the Chiefs just rolled over the Chargers for the second time in 2017, we’re quite happy to see this scene unfold.
Either way, we should all appreciate this scene. In case you missed it. Chargers defensive star Joey Bosa caught up with Chiefs pass rushing legend Tamba Hali after the game and the camera caught the two in a conversation about their craft. It’s clear that Hali was teaching Bosa some moves and giving him some pass rushing pointers.
You can see it below:
It’s easy to forget that football is, by definition, a game and that moments like these are great for the players. Bosa is clearly the future of the NFL, an elite pass rusher who is going to likely earn several Pro Bowl nods when all is said and done. Hali on the other hand has lived out those days. Bosa likely grew up watching Hali and is getting a chance to see a hero and even get advice from him.
Next: Positives & Negatives from Chiefs-Chargers
These sorts of moments are neat reminders of the opportunity the game affords and that we’re all fans when it comes down to it. And it’s great to see a guy like Hali using his skill set and knowledge to make others better. Perhaps it even means there’s a bit of coaching in his future.
(Of course it’s easy to appreciate moments like this when Bosa ends up a non-factor in a 17-point win for the division title.)
