We discuss the Kansas City Chiefs suspension of cornerback Marcus Peters, and we also talk with Seth Keysor of Arrowhead Pride.

This

Kansas City Chiefs

season has been something very different that is for sure. Kansas City starts 5-0 and looks to be a force throughout the first month and then falls off a cliff. Unfortunately it looks like they just hit a ledge part way down the cliff with the way things are going. Andy Reid made a very big statement on Wednesday

suspending Marcus Peters

for the game against the Oakland Raiders this weekend. It’s really the best move for the team and for Peters as well.

Undisciplined play and effort questions have been plaguing Peters over the past several weeks. There are multiple instances of him lacking the attacking mindset that is needed on defense each week. This suspension was a result of his penalty for throwing the official’s flag into the stands and/or walking off the field. But this has been culminating throughout this season and it finally hit a point where the coach had to address it.

Another issue that has started to be talked about for the wrong reasons over the past couple of weeks is body language. Yes there are times players are going to be frustrated throughout the NFL season. Unfortunately, right now, it is a reoccurring theme with Peters this season. He’s spent time yelling at his coaches on the sideline and throwing fits on the field. He’s shown frustration over and over and you are starting to see that same frustration shown by other defensive teammates. Peters is a fantastic player and is an asset to this team if he plays how he has before this year. You can take idiotic plays every now and then if he’s giving full effort and not doing it regularly.
