Watch Bills WR Zay Jones magically levitate vs Kansas City Chiefs
By Matt Conner
Somehow we missed the fact that Buffalo Bills wide receiver Zay Jones defied the laws of gravity in the win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
There’s nothing we want to focus on less than the recent loss to the Buffalo Bills at this point. It’s already Thursday. It was a depressing game. We all want to move on in Chiefs Kingdom and for good reason. Hopefully this weekend can help provide a salve with a win over the New York Jets.
That said, somehow in all of our sorrow, we missed a pretty magical moment. And when we say magical, we literally mean “magic” from Bills wide receiver Zay Jones.
Let’s just get right to the action. Check out below the initial incident and then we’ll look closer at what happened, how it happened and Zay Jones own history of insane moves.
Click that a few times before you assume there’s a camera trick at work, some special effects video after the fact or more. What you’re watching is a wide receiver getting up by magically floating back to his feet.
Lest you think you know how it works, well, you’re not alone. Here’s a dance coach trying to teach how to do this same move to make it appear as if you’re defying gravity.
The bad news: this doesn’t explain a thing. I’ve watched this dance vid a few times now and he clearly puts in more effort in getting up than Jones ever does on the field.
Folks around Buffalo were all trying to make the same move, including Ed Drantch, a reporter for Buffalo’s local ABC affiliate. Check out the results.
What makes this even more impressive is the fact that this isn’t even the only ghostly move in Zay Jones’ catalog. Check out this other catch in which he includes a weird hop step but gets up in ways I’ve ever even tried all the same.
You can try to explain this away all you want, but the reality is that Zay Jones is more than a rookie wide receiver. He is, indeed, a gravity defying wizard. Maybe we were all so depressed that we failed to see it on Sunday as Chiefs fans, but I have to admit I’m looking forward to seeing Zay Jones in the future, even if it’s just to see the funky ways he gets up after Reggie Ragland tackles him in years to come.
