LeSean McCoy enjoyed a strong game last week against the Chargers and he hopes to continue that success against the Chiefs on Sunday.

After two consecutive weeks of frustration in the stats columns, LeSean McCoy is hoping he can continue the success he found running against the San Diego Chargers last Sunday.

McCoy averaged a scant 37 rushing yards per game over the previous two weeks against the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints. On Sunday, McCoy came to life, gaining 114 rushing yards on only 13 rushes and 1 touchdown.

Leading into this week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road at Arrowhead Stadium, McCoy said he was aiming for more of the same.

"“Yeah, we did some good things on Sunday,” McCoy said. “Guys blocked well, the running backs read the holes well. We prepared hard and knew we could get some lanes in there. It was the ability to make guys miss on the perimeter. That’s kind of how we run the ball. “We just have to continue to be consistent. Just getting back-to-back games together in the running game.”"

Despite the success for McCoy alone, the reality is that the Chiefs would gladly allow McCoy to run all over the field if they could also mirror the overall results from last week, given that the Chargers absolutely decimated the Bills on Sunday. Even with McCoy’s yards, the Chargers still won by 30 points.

The Chiefs run defense has been a serious weakness in 2017, so McCoy has reason to hope. The Chiefs are giving up 4.6 yards/carry on the ground and have given up 10 rushing touchdowns in 10 games and have allowed 1,292 rushing yards overall (compared to only 1,184 rushing yards for their own offense).

In three career games against the Chiefs, McCoy has averaged 104 rushing yards and 13 receiving yards per game.
