The content of today’s show is all about the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback controversy that could become much larger soon.

The Kansas City Chiefs will return to practice today. We will get a chance to see if any of the several wounded are able to return against the Bills. Tamba Hali and Dee Ford would be helpful to add a pass rush against a Bills team that will struggle to move the ball through the air. Both players didn’t practice at all in the prior week so the chances of them playing is probably slim.

With Ford’s continuous injuries over the past two years you have to wonder if the Chiefs will consider cutting him in the off-season. He’s shown promise as a pass rusher but he is a liability against the run. He also can’t stay healthy which negates his value as a pass rusher if he isn’t playing. Kansas City will have a lot of big decisions to make this off-season to be competitive for new players. They are currently over the projected cap for 2018 with less than 40 players under contract.

I don’t think that Andy Reid will make a move to Patrick Mahomes this season unless things get much worse. Mahomes has a lot of promise but it isn’t Andy’s style to move away from his guy. The one thing that could get Mahomes starting other than an injury is a continued lack of fire and passion from his team. There is not a stronger move that a coach can make when they switch the starting QB. It signals to the rest of the team no one’s job is safe and with the way the Chiefs are playing maybe that’s what is needed.
