New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo is looking past the hot seat and even took a moment to ask fans to come out to a predicted win over the Chiefs.

It’s not often that an NFL head coach says anything other than what we call coachspeak, using phrases like “they’re a good football team” about any and every team in the league. They focus on executing and saying phrases with as little substance as possible. That’s why it was a little colorful to hear New York Giants Ben McAdoo guarantee a win over the visiting Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

McAdoo was reaching out to fans to encourage them to come out on Sunday in case they weren’t planning to watch the Chiefs-Giants match-up for Week 11. The reason those fans weren’t making such plans is because the Giants have a single win this season and even surrendered last week to the previous winless San Francisco 49ers in a game that pretty much stuck a pin in not only the Giants season but McAdoo’s tenure as head coach. Then again, that didn’t stop McAdoo from predicting good things on Sunday.

We plan on playing great football on Sunday and getting a win,” he said Friday. “Fans have been nothing but great. Players want support, and we need to give fans something to cheer about.”"

McAdoo is doing his best to forget about the fact that both he and the rest of his coaching staff are likely gone in a matter of several weeks. Perhaps a win will cool the talk just a bit in terms of an in-season change, but there’s little doubt McAdoo is out even if the Giants find a way to win the rest of their games.

Injuries have taken a toll, but the Giants putrid offensive output in recent weeks and rumors that he’s lost the team have come full circle to bite McAddo. There’s simply nothing much for the team to play for. Perhaps some motivation can be found in guaranteeing a win, but it will be one of the biggest surprises of the week if the Chiefs fall after the bye week in New York.
