Postseason or bust

The timing of all of this, on paper, could be ideal for Brett Veach and the Chiefs coaching staff. Justin Houston has been talking about greatness lately and it’s in the postseason where legends can be made. Tamba Hali was also scrambling for his chance to do something special in January, and a man so passionate and ready should be set loose to showcase his skills.

Add to that veteran mix a linebacker in Dee Ford who will be entering an interesting contract situation where the Chiefs have to ultimately decide whether to pay him serious money after picking up his fifth year option. Ford should be especially motivated to give the Chiefs something positive to think about entering the offseason and a healthy pass rush in the postseason will be a lingering memory for sure for front office and fans alike.

Even if one of these players end up slipping in some way, the good news is that there are multiple developmental talents behind them all ready to step up. It’s been rough going through the first half of the season, but the Chiefs might have a way to make it all come together at the right time.
