Kansas City Chiefs vs Oakland Raiders

Alex Smith came into this game to prove everyone wrong that was doubting him after the Steelers loss. He was very accurate all game and at all levels of the field. Let’s just get this started off with a three-play drive why don’t we?

The Chiefs are backed up to their own one-yard line and decide to throw a deep pass to Robinson. What a great play by Smith in what looked like a pure disaster at the beginning of the drive.

And then this happens. The Oakland Raiders have clearly not watched enough tape if they are trying to go single-high safety when Tyreek Hill is on the field. Not to mention for all of the people that said last year that Alex Smith can’t throw deep? He almost just overthrew Hill in this deep throw for the touchdown. Amazing play.

This drive right here was a symbol of what we saw from Alex Smith against the Raiders. He was extremely accurate all game and made really good decisions. Smith had a much better game finding Robinson five times against the Raiders as well. Hill ended up having 125 yards on the day.

The Chiefs were able to spend most of their time picking the Raiders defense apart in the short passing game and then just when the Raiders were caught on they would throw an intermediate or deep throw for a big play. The Raiders defense had no answer for what Smith was able to do. Smith threw 25/36 for 342 yards and 3 touchdowns.

While it was against a struggling defense, the Chiefs were able to dominate the Raiders defense in Oakland on Thursday Night Football. Not to mention a division rival. The only reason they lost this game was to the Chiefs defense not being able to slow down the Raiders offense.
