We take a closer look at the offense as we head into the weekend before the Denver Broncos game on Monday Night Football.

The Kansas City Chiefs got some good injury news on Thursday with center Mitch Morse practicing in full. Cornerback Steven Nelson also returned to the practice field though he wasn’t listed on the practice report. Nelson doesn’t have to be listed on the practice report because, for now, he is not on the active roster. He will practice all week and can’t be activated before Monday, so we won’t know until Monday whether or not he could be active.

While they got some good news on the injury front there were a couple of guys that were still limited at practice. Starting right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was limited in practice which more than likely means he won’t be ready to play on Monday night. The surprising name on the injury report for the Chiefs was outside linebacker Justin Houston. He was limited in practice and it wasn’t known that he had an injury. This could just be the Chiefs giving him time to recover since he’s a veteran but it is worth monitoring.

The Chiefs have a lot of offensive weapons that they have to be ready to use to spread out the Broncos defense. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill, tight end Travis Kelce and running back Kareem Hunt are the workhorses of this offense but they don’t have to be the only weapons. Wideout Demarcus Robinson needs to show he can be successful this year against a defense that isn’t the Raiders. Albert Wilson needs to show he is fully back from his injury as well. If Kansas City could get additional production from a guy like tight end Demetrius Harris or wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas, they should be able to move the ball well against the Broncos.
