Are Chiefs fans really the best in the NFL?
Chiefs fans may be the best in the NFL but now they’re being offered an opportunity to prove it.
Kansas City Chiefs fans are the best in the NFL, right?
Hey, look, you don’t need to convince me. I’ve been a member of the Chiefs Kingdom since about the 6th grade. I’ve been to Arrowhead, I’ve heard the roar of the crowd and I know for a fact that Chiefs fans top every other NFL fan base.
But now we have a chance to prove it.
A couple of years ago, FanSided launched the annual Fan of the Year contest. The first year, the prize was small. The winner, a Buffalo Bills fan, won a years subscription to Sports Illustrated and he was profiled in the magazine. Pretty cool, right?
Last year, however, we took things next level.
The second annual Fan of the Year, a San Francisco Giants devotee named Dave Edlund, won a trip to New York City, two tickets to the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year (last year it was LeBron James) event, FanSided swag, a trophy and oh yea, his

The prize was awesome and I can personally attest to that because I went with the winner to the event in NYC. We got to walk the red carpet and I watched as Dave met and took photos with Peyton Manning, Francisco Lindor, “Big Papi” David Ortiz and so many more. I was there when he was interviews live on SI Now. It is a truly incredible prize.
As we enter year three of this contest, we have never received a single entry from a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Dang it, that has to change this year because I know there are too many rabid Chiefs fans out there deserving of this award.
How do you enter?
It is simple.
Go to the FanSided Fan of the Year homepage and tell us your story. We want to know what makes you the ultimate sports fan. A short essay can get it done. You can also make a Youtube video if you are good at that sort of thing.
Maybe you haven’t missed a game in 25 years. Maybe you have the biggest collection of Chiefs memorabilia in the world. Whatever it is that makes you the biggest Chiefs fan out there, please write in and let us know.
