We take a look at the key match-ups as the Chiefs head to Houston to take on the Texans on Sunday Night Football.

The injury report was the same on Thursday as it was on Wednesday. Alex Smith, Kevin Pierre-Louis, Eric Fisher, and Bennie Logan all practiced in full. Smith is listed as a full participant with an ankle injury that he sustained on Monday night against the Redskins. All of these players should be good to go for Sunday night.

Mitch Morse, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Dee Ford did not practice on Thursday. I expect that all of them will miss the game against the Houston Texans. While it is the same injury report as last week I missed a key piece of good news yesterday. Chiefs guard Parker Ehinger practiced in full for the second straight day and wasn’t listed on the injury report. That is a great sign that he may be ready to return very soon to a banged up Chiefs offensive line. If Ehinger can return this week the Chiefs at least have solid depth behind their guys that will be playing on Sunday.

The biggest key to beating the Houston Texans is stopping their offense. I’m not a huge believer in Deshaun Watson yet. He had limitations coming out of college and I don’t think they are magically fixed now. Watson will need to prove that he can sustain his success over the season. For now I think Kansas City will be a big test for him. The Chiefs defense is usually very hard on rookie quarterbacks. I expect Sutton to confuse Watson and I expect a couple turnovers to help the Chiefs on Sunday night.
