The Kansas City Chiefs have serious help on the way
By Matt Conner
Mitch Morse
Morse’s return is going to be even more valuable than getting Ehinger back, simply because Morse looked like a Pro Bowl performer early this season and serves as a strong yet athletic captain in the middle. Andy Reid’s offense flows best when Mitch Morse is in the center of it all and that’s going to spell instant relief for the Chiefs offensive players who will love knowing Morse is back under center.
For now, the Chiefs will make do with Zach Fulton, who has been just fine in the role. The Chiefs are lucky to have someone so experienced ready to take over for Morse, but no one would pretend that Morse isn’t missed.
Bringing Morse back not only forces Fulton back to the bench but gives the Chiefs some added depth moving forward—especially since, at one point Cameron Erving was the only backup lineman available against Washington.
