The Chiefs head into this Monday night contest a little beat up against the Washington Redskins and that could create issues.

It’s being reported by Matt Derrick of Chiefsdigest.com that Eric Fisher, Dee Ford and Mitch Morse were not at practice on Saturday. Needless to say this is a major concern on both sides of the ball for the Chiefs. Injuries are a part of the game that every team has to overcome but they will be difficult for the Chiefs this week.

Eric Fisher has become one of the Chiefs better offensive lineman. While most will say that he will never live up to his draft stock I think that’s awfully short sighted. Fisher is still playing with the team that drafted him. The 2013 draft has proven to be one of the worst in recent memory when it comes to the recent drafts. Fisher is not a perennial All-Pro but he is close to being a Pro-Bowl caliber left tackle. Chiefs fans should thank John Dorsey for signing Fisher to the extension when he did as the cost will just rise.

Dee Ford is another story for the Chiefs. Ford has not turned into the pass rusher that Kansas City had hoped he would become to this point. Ford is a good pass rusher but isn’t great. He consistently gets pressure on the QB but it usually isn’t enough to get there. He is a liability when it comes to the running game and will continue to be moving forward. Ford has shown the ability to cover down the field as he can turn and run well. Ford’s outside pressure will be missed on Monday Night Football. We can hope the Chiefs are able to dial up pressure elsewhere.
