Locked on Chiefs: Chargers are tougher test than record suggests
By Chris Clark
We take a look at what makes this a tough match-up for the Chiefs as they head to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers.
When the Chiefs head to Los Angeles this weekend the game will be a much bigger test than meets the eye. Los Angeles is two kicks short of being 2-0 as a team and I hope the Chiefs don’t have to bet on a missed kick on Sunday. Phillip Rivers still has the ability to play at an All-Pro level especially if his weapons stay healthy. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams will be a formidable test when they are both available to play.
The Chargers defense have playmakers throughout each level. Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram will get after the quarterback. The Chargers defensive line isn’t on par with the Eagles, but they will still be a good test. The loss of Mitch Morse for the next couple of weeks will test the inner part of the Chiefs offensive line. The Chargers also have good corners in Casey Hayward and Jason Verrett are a good duo, although Verrett seems unlikely to play on Sunday,

Kansas City did have practice on Wednesday. Three players were limited in practice with Reggie Ragland, Parker Ehinger and Dee Ford not practicing in full. Mitch Morse didn’t practice at all which is expected for the next couple weeks. Ford is a surprising addition to the list and is concerning. The fact that he practiced a little is a good sign but you would hope he is able to go in full by Friday afternoon. Especially considering that Los Angeles will be without a couple of lineman on Sunday.
