We are joined by John Gennaro from Boltsfromtheblue.com to discuss the upcoming game with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The players were off again on Tuesday as they were given rest after the victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. On Tuesday Kansas City brought in running back George Atkinson, cornerbacks Makinton Dorleant and Ezra Robinson, and linebacker Garrett Sickels. They signed Atkinson to the practice squad to replace Akeem Hunt who was added to the active roster on Saturday. The team also added defensive back Keith Reaser and defensive tackle Daniel Ross to the practice squad. To make room for the additional players the Chiefs released defensive back Taurean Nixon and defensive lineman Rickey Hatley.

Kansas City appears to be making moves much like they have in years past. The team’s practice squad is going to be churned every week. The Chiefs will bring in new players to continue to find pieces to help for the future. Brett Veach appears to be much more aggressive acquiring players via trade than his predecessor by trading picks but he appears to be willing to churn the bottom of the roster.

The Chiefs are going to have a lot to prepare for this coming weekend. There may not be a lot of fans to watch the game as the Chargers have had trouble selling out Stub Hub Arena. The Chargers are a better team than their record suggests at 0-2. Having a kicker that isn’t a rookie could have the Chargers at 2-0 right now and a much bigger AFC West showdown on the horizon for this weekend. Los Angeles is a team that Kansas City can’t take lightly as they are highly talented on both sides of the ball.
