Understandably many variables come into play when predicting a future roster. Injuries and finances are the greatest variables in the equation.

Player progression also comes into play. Guys like Tanoh Kpassagnon and Ukeme Eligwe are two guys who could come up big on defense in the coming years.

On the offensive side of the ball, practice squad guys like Marcus Kemp and Gehrig Dieter seem to be holdovers to fit Mahomes scheme as quarterback. Both could very well be playing a serious role in 2020. Take into account the many draft picks and free agent markets to come, and the team looks primed to be a balanced force to be reckoned with.

The sweetest thing of all this is the fact that the future for the Chiefs is now. Many of the guys that should be making plays for the Chiefs in 2020 are making plays in 2017. Even though it’s been one game, and there is the slight chance that some of these guys are boom or bust, the chance’s of Hunt being a fluke are slimmer. The chance that Mahomes becomes a flash in the pan is nil.

The 2017 Chiefs have started in such fashion that even the doubters are staying silent. Win now, win later. This responsibility lies on Brett Veach to continue to operate at a high level. The future is bright in Kansas City. Finally.
