The New England Patriots have been a juggernaut of the AFC for almost two decades. Do the Chiefs have what it takes to surpass the Patriots in 2017?

The last time the Chiefs faced off against the Patriots it was playoff football. January 16th, 2016. Foxboro Stadium. The Patriots did just enough and the Chiefs did little to nothing as they went home for the summer.

The Chiefs lost that game 27 – 20. Fairly close if you go by points, but lightyears away when you look at that 2015 roster. How was it even that close?

That roster consisted of Charcandrick West, Jason Avant and Albert Wilson starting the game. Now two of those names are still here, but there was zero depth behind them. The Chiefs were a beat up mess and yet, only lost by seven.

In order to reach the next level in the playoffs the road undoubtedly runs back through Foxboro. For the 2017 Chiefs that road starts in Foxboro. Do they have the weapons to overtake the New England Patriots? Let’s take a look.
