The Chiefs head to Seattle on Friday night for their third tilt of the preseason. So far both games have built on the game before.

Preseason game number three is all about getting the starters ready for the regular season. The first string offense and defense should play into the third quarter. Several starters will be getting their only preseason action on Friday night. Chris Jones and Eric Berry will play for the first time and will not play in the fourth game. Jones and Berry probably won’t get a ton of snaps, just enough to get them a feel for the game.

When the backups start playing there are several players that I will be keeping a close eye on. De’Anthony Thomas is more than likely making this team but any plays he can make at wide receiver only help his cause. Demarcus Robinson also has a lot to prove. While I think he makes the team regardless of how he plays, anything he can do to get snaps with the starters when games start the better. Robinson would mostly be subbing in for Albert Wilson who looks to make the team as well.

On the defensive side of the ball I’ll be paying close attention to linebacker Justin March-Lillard and defensive lineman Cam Thomas. Both appear to be long shots to make the roster this year. While Cam Thomas isn’t a big surprise, March-Lillard showed a lot of promise in the past couple of seasons. The linebacker just doesn’t seem to have the instincts that he has had in the past. De’Vante Bausby and Ashton Lampkin are also players I will be watching intently tonight. Both players are also probably long shots to make the roster but they have a possibility. Who will you be watching tonight in preseason game number three?
