The starters will get plenty of time for both sides, so there’s plenty of reasons to tune in to tonight’s game between the Seahawks and Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping for a repeat road performance on Friday night as they visit the Seattle Seahawks just a few days after their previous preseason win at Cincinnati against the Bengals. That performance was a display of offensive and defensive superiority, but the Chiefs face a much tougher test against the Seahawks.

Both teams have serious playoff hopes and will be leaving in their starters longer than any other preseason game to date, since players are now gearing up for Week 1 readiness. With a strong defense front to back and Super Bowl experience, Seattle will always be a tough out under Pete Carroll.

The Chiefs are hoping to see positive signs in the defensive debuts of several players on Friday. Chris Jones and Roy Miller will suit up for a preseason game for the first time in 2017. Jones is a second-year wunderkind who became an elite force down the stretch last year. He looks to start this season off on the same note despite recent arthroscopic surgery on his knee.

For Miller, this game is likely going to be a tryout to see if can make the team overall. He recently signed after several seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a veteran run stuffer who can help supplant Bennie Logan when needed and provide extra muscle in obvious running situations. As a late camp addition, it will be interesting to watch what he brings to the table in front of a new fan base.

Of course, there’s one more player returning tonight for his preseason debut: safety Eric Berry. The Chiefs have been without their All-Pro in practice and previous games all training camp, but fans will be excited to see how Berry looks as he’s been nursing a sore heel. The Chiefs have been taking it easy knowing his primary goal is being healthy and available for the first regular season game against the New England Patriots on Sept. 7.
