The Kansas City Chiefs will be without their biggest stars on defense when they suit up to play the Seattle Seahawks on the road on Friday.
The long-awaited debut of Eric Berry will take a bit longer than expected. The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Friday just before the team’s third preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks that the All-Pro safety will not be available to play despite word earlier this week that Berry would suit up for the first time in training camp.

Berry was expected to make his preseason debut on Friday along with fellow defenders Chris Jones and Roy Miller. The latter two defensive linemen will still be available and it will be interesting to see how the Chiefs rotate their defensive front. Miller especially is a late signing and yet he’s a solid run stuffer with a good reputation and work ethic. Will he be able to take away snaps from Rakeem Nunez-Roches?
Tamba Hali remains on the team’s Physically Unable to Play list and will sit out this game, which means the Chiefs primary pass rushers heading into tonight’s game will be Dee Ford and… maybe Frank Zombo? This could be a good night for younger players among the outside linebackers or defensive ends to stand out. Unfortunately Dadi Nicolas, one such player, is also out on Friday.
Parker Ehinger also came off the PUP list this week but the team’s starting guard from last year still is not in game shape. Bryan Witzmann is expected to start his third straight game with the first-team offensive line.
