Chiefs rookie QB Patrick Mahomes has a chance to show that the first game was not an aberration and he will be playing better competition.

The Kansas City Chiefs head to Cincinnati on Saturday for their second game of the preseason on Saturday night. There will be a bunch of players that should be available on Saturday that weren’t in their first game against the 49ers. Tight end Travis Kelce looks to be available for the first time in the preseason. Defensive linemen Bennie Logan and Roy Miller also have an opportunity to make their respective debuts. However, Kansas City will probably still be without safety Eric Berry and defensive lineman  Chris Jones as well as potentially Terrance Mitchell and a couple more cornerbacks.

There are multiple players throughout the roster that I will be watching on Saturday night. Can the Chiefs wide receivers start to separate themselves more? Who will end up being the Chiefs third running back this season? Charcandrick West didn’t impress in the first game while C.J. Spiller at least looked like he still had his burst. Are there any offensive lineman that step forward and make a case to make the roster? The Chiefs could really use a couple of lineman to prove they are ready to be the reserves.

Tamba Hali, Parker Ehinger, and Dadi Nicolas remain on the PUP list and will not play on Saturday. The Chiefs will probably be activating Hali soon to get him a couple of snaps before the season begins. Ehinger could be activated soon as well if you believe his personal Instagram post. The question that will remain with Ehinger is whether or not he will get his position back when he does return. Bryan Witzmann has looked good with the first string offensive line and if Ehinger remains out much longer Witzmann may have a stranglehold on the position.
