The Kansas City Chiefs have been without tight end Travis Kelce, safety Eric Berry and defensive tackle Bennie Logan.

Andy Reid has been fairly positive when it comes to the various injuries that have crept in on the Kansas City Chiefs a couple weeks into training camp this August. Each of the various ailments discussed are couched in positive terms from the head coach during his press briefings with the media, but it still doesn’t change the fact that key players have now missed multiple practices in a row, including tight end Travis Kelce, defensive tackle Bennie Logan and safety Eric Berry.

For Kelce, he’s missed four practices in a row due to knee swelling. For Logan and Berry, the count is now at two practices. Berry and Logan are both dealing with sore heels.

For all three players, it’s not a serious matter that they are in danger of perhaps sitting out Friday night’s opener with the visiting San Francisco 49ers. There are still a few weeks to prepare for the season opening game against the New England Patriots, and Berry and Kelce especially are well-versed enough in the schemes to be as careful as possible. For Logan, it will be important to get as familiar as he can while staying healthy, although his 51 starts at the NFL will no doubt help him make the transition to Bob Sutton’s defensive scheme.

The Chiefs return to practice again on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. as they prepare to face the Niners on Friday.
