Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Kevin Sampson was arrested for marijuana possession among other charges.
Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Kevin Sampson was arrested on Monday for marijuana possession as well as being in possession of a stolen shotgun, per a report from The Oklahoman.
The authorities were called to the scene, a gas station, to investigate when someone called to report that Sampson was “acting oddly” sitting in his car. Per the report:
"Officers determined that Sampson had taken some type of medication with stimulant properties. When officers searched the vehicle, they found 21 large clear plastic bags loaded with a total of 615.7 grams of marijuana in the trunk, according to a police report."
Sampson was released after posting bond.
Sampson was a former seventh round choice of the Chiefs back in 2004 out of Syracuse, when they went 7-9 under Dick Vermeil with one of the NFL’s best offenses. Sampson started seven games in three seasons in Kansas City, leaving after the 2006 season to play for the Carolina Panthers. He also spent time on the Washington Redskins roster without ever playing in a single game for either Carolina or Washington.
Now 36 years old, Sampson will eventually face charges in court back in El Reno even after posting bond.
