The next man up to be interviewed either late tonight (Tuesday) or tomorrow will be Seattle Seahawks exec Scott Fitterer.

The Kansas City Chiefs are wasting no time to fill John Dorsey’s now empty spot as General Manager after letting him go last Friday. Candidates are already flying into Kansas City to interview for the job, and the latest candidate, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, is Scott Fitterer, a veteran executive from Seattle.

Fitterer has been serving as the co-Director of Player Personnel with the Seattle Seahawks, a position he’s had since 2015. Before that, Fitterer was the Director of College Scouting, having moved up after serving for years as a scout. Under his leadership, the Seahawks drafted much of the championship team that remains highly competitive today, including quarterback Russell Westbrook, defensive backs Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman and more.

Fitterer’s interview will likely fit snugly between two other important names: Brett Veach, who was first up on the interview list, and Ryan Cowden, who is expected to interview on Wednesday. Cowden is the Director of Player Personnel for the Tennessee Titans. Veach is the in-house candidate who is likely the favorite to win the job, assuming he has a decent interview. Veach holds the same Director of Player Personnel role already with the Chiefs and would be very familiar with the team’s internal processes and chemistry, creating the least amount of friction in the upcoming transition.
