I have been a Chiefs fan my entire life and have had season tickets since 1989. I have seen the Chiefs win division titles, win playoff games and dominate the league during the regular season. The one thing I’ve never seen is them in the Super Bowl. Reid has been a coach for 19 seasons in the NFL and has only made one Super Bowl. He made it that year because everything went perfect; he had a top two defense and a top two offense including a Hall of Fame quarterback.

So can Reid make a Super Bowl? Yes he can make it in the same sense as Smith can, if everything is perfect. How often in the NFL is everything perfect? So just like I say the Chiefs needed a new quarterback because Alex can only get them so far, I say they need a new coach because Andy can as well. How would everyone have reacted if the Chiefs announced they signed Alex to a new five year extension?

The Chiefs disagreed with me. They fired one of the best general managers in the league who overhauled the entire Chiefs roster in favor of Andy. Do not get it twisted; Andy will be in charge of everything going forward. He just proved he can get the GM fired if he doesn’t toe the line. So no matter the GM they get, it will be hard for me to believe Andy won’t be pulling all the strings. The last time Andy pulled the strings was when Philly had the “Dream Team”. How well did that work out?

Dorsey had built a draft team that was so respected he was getting guys poached to GM other teams. He has found a diamond in the rough in free agency every year, such as Terrance Mitchell last year. I sure hope I’m wrong about all this and the Chiefs are having a big parade in February. I will happily eat a big plate of crow live on camera for all to mock. But I believe you lost the guy who gave you the best roster the Chiefs have had in decades for the coach who despite that roster can’t advance in the playoffs.

I understand the safeness of Andy, but I’m tired of being safe and being happy with a full Arrowhead. I’m ready to risk being 2-14 to take a shot at the Super Bowl. This move says to me the Chiefs aren’t willing to take that risk.
