I understand why the Kansas City Chiefs did what they did, but I believe the Chiefs made the wrong decision and chose the wrong man.

I think the Kansas City Chiefs got rid of the wrong man.

That’s right, if I was in Clark Hunt’s position as team owner, I would have signed John Dorsey to a new deal and fired Andy Reid. No, I’m not only saying that to try to have a Skip Bayless hot take that I don’t believe but I want press; I would have made that move because I think Dorsey would give us a better chance to win a Super Bowl than Andy does.

First off, I’m not saying Andy is a bad coach. Andy is a very good coach who, as long as all he does is coach, you are almost guaranteed a .500 season. He’ll be a solid mentor for Patrick Mahomes and make sure at worse he’s not a bust. Andy Reid is a Top 10 coach in the NFL overall and if the Chiefs fired him and he wanted to keep coaching, he’d have a job within 24 hours. Those are facts that nobody can argue against.

Every time I’ve written articles or mentioned on Twitter that I am not a fan of Reid, the comments come hot and heavy. Mostly people quote me wins under Todd Haley and Romeo Crennel compared to wins under Andy, asking if I’d rather be 2-14. If winning regular season games and not being horrible is all you care about, then of course you want to keep Reid. But if you want to win a Super Bowl, I don’t see how you can’t at least be open to the idea.
