The entire 90-man roster for the Kansas City Chiefs showed up to practice on Tuesday but a few veterans held out due to health concerns.

Travis Kelce and Tamba Hali were among the few veterans still nursing injuries or health concerns, checking in as present but not actively practicing for the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday. The day kicked off three days of mandatory minicamp for everyone on the Chiefs roster, and fortunately all 90 men showed up as expected.

Parker Ehinger continues to work his way back from a torn ACL that prematurely ended his rookie season. The second-year guard should be ready by training camp or shortly thereafter, so there’s no reason to push things for a brief three-day minicamp. Kelce is on the same timeline as Ehinger, expected back by training camp after he recovers and rehabs from offseason shoulder surgery.

Dadi Nicolas has not given a public timeline of his expected return after he ruptured his patellar tendon in the Chiefs final regular season game of the 2016 season. A promising developmental pass rusher and special teams player, it will be interesting to see how well Nicolas can return after such an injury.

With relation to Hali’s absence from the field, it’s not quite certain what is plaguing him. Hali has dealt with a nagging knee injury and will often sit out practice in the regular season during the week of practice leading up to a game, so perhaps that’s what is happening here.
