Marc Sessler at NFL.com has a new column listing likely first-time Pro Bowlers for each team and has Mitchell Schwartz for the Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have plenty of Pro Bowlers, and it’d be an easy assumption to say they’ll have another handful or more next winter. Marc Sessler, writer for NFL.com, has a new column up looking at players who could be a first-time Pro Bowl invite for each team and he lists right tackle Mitchell Schwartz as a likely candidate.

Sessler is right on point with his selection of Schwartz, who has been among the better right tackles in the league for the last few years. The continued presence of the Chiefs among winning clubs versus playing for the Cleveland Browns for the rest of his career should help elevate his stature. Sessler writes:

"With Kansas City set to make more prime-time TV appearances than any other club in 2017, a strong year for the Chiefs will net another bundle of Pro Bowl nods. Coming off a stellar campaign for the Browns in 2015, Schwartz cooled off a tad during his debut in Kansas City. Still, he was a reliable presence on Alex Smith’s right side and should only improve with another year in Andy Reid’s offense. If he can hold his own against the likes of Von Miller and Khalil Mack in the AFC West, Schwartz deserves a trip to Orlando."

As the Chiefs line continues to grow together and move from a young unit into a more experienced one, Schwartz might even have a chance at multiple nods. Also given that Schwartz has never missed a single game in his NFL career, he’s the best bet to stay playing at that level and add another Pro Bowl player to the Chiefs roster.
