U2 has announced a date at Arrowhead Stadium this fall for their fall tour. We hope they play these Chiefs-related hits.
Let’s be honest: this is the dumbest thing you’ll read today. It’s also June in the NFL.
U2 announced a new concert stop on their current North American tour making its way across the U.S.. The legendary rock band will play Arrowhead Stadium on September 12, and tickets will go on sale on Monday, June 12.
There’s all kinds of details about tickets and parking and money and stuff we don’t care about at this point available here, so we’ll leave those things alone. More importantly, we’re interested in seeing whether or not the band will cater their performance to their local audience and include a number of Chiefs-specific hits.
It’s natural that U2 would play Arrowhead considering the lead singer is already named after Steve Bono. In addition, they’re promoting the 30th anniversary of their famous Joshua Mauga Tree album. In addition to some of our own favorites like “Spencer Ware the Streets Have No Name,” we also asked for your input on some other Chiefs-specific songs from the U2 catalog. Suffice it to say, you did not disappoint (and indeed made us laugh out loud):
