I’d love to ask about your time with the Chiefs specifically. Do you remember those years fondly?

My time with the Chiefs is by far my most favorite organization I ever played for. The Hunts are amazing people to have played for. The fans in Kansas City are amazing. They really remind me of my days back at LSU and how passionate the entire city was behind the team. I have some really fond memories there and even the players there. It was a real brotherhood over there with guys like Kendrick Lewis and Brandon Flowers, who is one of my best friends to this day. I talk to him almost every single day. Eric Berry, Tamba Hali, Justin Houston… the list just goes on and on.

One of my favorite moments… I can’t remember which game it was, but it involves a fan. I heard my name being called out so I looked back and a fan was holding up their little baby who was probably only seven-months-old who was in a onesie with my number on it. [Laughs] That was pretty impressive. I can’t remember their name offhand, but we’re still friends on Facebook and that kid’s growing up. They’re season ticket holders and everything, so they’re always at the game supporting the guys. The fans just make it such a great place to be.

[Laughs] I love the idea of a Travis Daniels onesie.

[Laughs] Yeah, man that was the first of its kind. My own kids didn’t even get a onesie. I gotta talk to my wife and see what’s going on about that.

As fans, you always heard that everyone always loved playing for Romeo Crennel. Is that true and, if so, what made it that way?

That’s true. Romeo is definitely a team favorite. He’s an all-around great person. Sometimes you have coaches who seem like they have such an ego and you can’t even get anything across to them. Romeo is completely different. He’s a really humble guy. He understands players and how to put them in the best position. It’s so hard to put his characteristics into words of how great he is.

You played for Todd Haley. Do you think he deserves another chance to be a head coach?

I think Todd definitely does. Todd was a really good coach to me. He understands the game very well. He knows how to judge talent. He’s a no B.S. type of guy. He demands a lot from his players, and I think he definitely deserves another chance. From his time in Kansas City to his time in Pittsburgh, I’m sure he’s probably grown tremendously. I mean, you never stay the same. You can’t coach under a guy like Mike Tomlin without learning a lot about the game and the way to coach players and get the most out of them with different techniques. I think Todd would make a really great head coach again if he’s able to get that opportunity. We did win the division with him. Todd’s a good coach. I like him a lot.

Anything else you’d love fans to know?

I’d love fans to follow my path and photography at Travis Daniels Photography. My Instagram is Travis Daniels Photography and even my Facebook is Travis Daniels Photography. So we made it really simple for everybody to be able to follow it and support it. If you know anyone who’s getting engaged or married, I’d love the opportunity to share in that moment with them. They can reach out to me and we can get on the phone right away and see if we have the date available. Outside of that, go Chiefs!
